A. Download Driver

  • Note! If you skip any steps you will not be able to print. Read carefully.
  1. Once in the new page, find the printer driver associated with your computer operating system and follow that link to download the driver

B. Install the driver (May need to enter password during process).

C. Add location specific printer to computer

  1. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your Finder Desktop, then click on "System Preferences".
  2. Click on "Printers & Scanners" (or Print & Fax depending on your model)
  3. In the next window, click "+" to add a Kyocera Printer to the MAC OSX System
  4. From the top tabs, choose the "IP" tab and set up the Kyocera Printer / MFP as follows:
    1. IP address:
        • for Cambridge 5th floor, enter 10.130.1.100
        • for Cambridge Cafe, enter 10.130.1.101
        • for Boston, enter 10.2.1.250
        • for Union Square, enter 10.2.30.6
        • for Arlington, enter 10.2.166.11
        • for Back Bay, enter - ask Kara
    2. Protocol: choose Line Printer Daemon LPD
    3. Queue: LEAVE BLANK
    4. Name: give your device a name (ex. Workbar Boston printer or Workbar Cambridge printer)
    5. Location: Optional
    6. Print using: Kyocera Taskalfa 3051ci(KPDL) (If you skip this step, you will not be able to print at Workbar)
    7. Select Add to complete the settings.
  5. Setup of Installable “Options”:
    1. Paper Feeders: select "cassettes 3, 4"
    2. Document Finisher: for Arlington, Cambridge, and Union Sq, select “1000-Sheet Finisher”. For Boston, select “not installed”
    3. Optional Disk: "Hard Disk"
    4. Select "OK" to finish

BUT WAIT! You are not finished yet!

D. Edit presets in doc to print

  • For older Mac drivers

(Look below for instructions to the newest Mac driver)

  1. Open any document to print, preferably a Word document
    1. Go to the third drop down and select "Job Accounting"
    2. Check the Job Accounting box and enter your 4-digit Account ID in the box.
    3. Go to the drop down labelled 'Presets.' Select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
    4. Name the preset "[Space Location] Color" and select "Okay"
      • Example: "Cambridge Cafe Color"
    • NOTE: Always use the appropriate preset depending on your location.
  2. To make a preset Black and White instead of color:
    1. Using the third drop down, select "Imaging"
    2. Under "Color Mode" select "Black and White"
    3. Go to the drop down labelled "Presets" and select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
    4. Name the preset “[Space Location] B&W” and select “Okay”.
      • Example: "Cambridge Cafe B&W"

NOTE: The first time you print, your computer will automatically print using the “default printer settings”. Be sure to change the preset to match your desired color scheme, either black and white, or color. (100 free b/w per month, 5 cents per overage, 25 cents for color printing)

NOTE: If using Chrome, please hit the link at the bottom of the print screen that says "print using system dialogue" (you will have to press this link anytime you print from Chrome)

  • For newest Mac OS Driver (OS X 10.8 or higher)
  1. Open any document to print, preferably a Word document
    1. Go to the fourth drop down and select “Print Panel”.
    2. Go to “Settings…” at the bottom
    3. A new settings box will pop up. On the left hand side, select “Job”
    4. Under “Job Accounting”, check the box and input your 4 digit member printer code under “Account ID”
    5. Hit “Ok”, which will now give you the ability to go to the “Presets” drop down in the first box that popped up.
    6. In the “Presets” drop down, choose “Save Current Settings as Preset... ”
    7. Change the name of the preset in the “Preset Name” box to “[Space Location] Color” and hit “Ok”
      • Ex. “Union Color”
    • NOTE: Always use the appropriate preset depending on your location.
  2. To make a preset Black and White instead of color:
    1. Go back to “Settings…”
    2. On the left hand side of the new box, choose “Imaging”
    3. At the top of the box, highlight the “Black & white” icon and hit “Ok”
    4. In the first box, go to the “Presets” drop down and select “Save Current Settings as Preset…”
    5. Change the name of the preset in the “Preset Name” box to “[Space Location] B&W”
      • Ex. “Union B&W”
